Centra Celebrates 30 Year Anniversary with New Forklift Contract

by Press Release on 2011-07-14

centra unileverThis year Centra Forklifts celebrates 30 years of an exclusive partnership with Mitsubishi in New Zealand, after it began to import fully manufactured Mitsubishi forklifts into the New Zealand market in 1981.

Centra Forklifts offers local companies 30 years of experience and product knowledge for all material handling requirements from forklift sales to parts, rental and servicing.

It was this market experience that led consumer goods company Unilever to choose Lower Hutt Centra Forklift dealer All Fleet Services to supply seven new forklifts on long-term lease.

The five Mitsubishi forklift trucks and two Zowell trucks have been delivered to Unilever in Wellington and the company will start using them immediately in their manufacturing, packaging, warehousing and distribution centres.

Industry expertise and product servicing and support were important factors in Centra winning the tender.

“We spent many hours on site, looking at how Unilever uses its forklifts and talking to the forklift operators to gain a deep understanding of the company’s operations and unique needs,” says Wren Bartram, Centra Area Sales Manager. “Based on this we were able to recommend the best equipment and models for their work environment.”

Unilever’s portfolio features some of Australasia’s best-known household brands including Flora, Lipton, Persil and Dove, which are distributed to retailers around New Zealand. The company moves more than 400 pallets each day by forklift as part of its manufacturing and distribution process.
