SSI Schaefer launches LogiMat storage lift at CeMAT 2011

SSI Schaefer announced today that they officially launched the LogiMat storage lift in the global market during CeMat 2011 in Hannover. The LogiMat storage lift can ensure maximum storage capacity with minimum space, reduce storage and energy costs; all thanks to its compact design.

The LogiMat storage lift is an automated storage and order picking solution that increases the performance of a warehouse, as well as the efficiency and flexibility of the picking processes; all with a minimal footprint. The LogiMat can provide a six to ten fold increase in order picking speeds thanks to the process automation of the solution and can minimise picking errors thanks to the computer-controlled processes.

The LogiMat can be compared to an oversized drawer cabinet with two rows of trays; a front row and a back row. Between both rows of trays there is a lift moving up and down along the entire height of the warehouse automation system to remove the individual trays from their positions and move them down to a service opening that follows the goods-to-man principle.

The order positions are transferred directly to a PC located on the automated warehouse system, where the relevant article trays are actuated by the system and transferred to the service opening. The warehouse staff remove the picked goods easily and at an ergonomic height with no operator stress.

The LogiMat is considered future-oriented and extremely operator-friendly and can reduce energy and storage costs thanks to the compact design. Thanks to the ergonomically conceived components, the LogiMat integrates seamlessly into the SSI Schaefer product range Ergonomics@Work.

Stepless, height-adjustable access openings and incline devices on the trays for the ergonomically correct removal of goods are just two examples from the fully-equipped equipment package. Compared to a common static storage solution, the storage lift only requires 1/10 of the storage space. The clever SPS control can be supplemented by the in-house software package Wamas and/or integrated seamlessly into the existing inventory management system. Various options for an increase of efficiency and maximum optimisation of the picking speed complete the package.
